Assignment 4: Reflection - Twilight

Twilight is the first movie of four movies. Together the four movies will establish Twilight Saga. The main characters in Twilight are Edward, who is a vampire and Bella who is a human. They fall in love and of course this creates a lot of complications. The film is about their struggle to overcome these complications and to understand each other. They are two different creatures and they live in different ways and have different views of many things. This film does not have a satisfying end, because there are more films to come. But the end is so thrilling that I had to read all of the books after seeing this first movie. I had to know the end of the Saga.

I think this is a great movie, it affects me a lot. I think it does this because of several reasons. First, it is wonderful love story. Their love is so strong and the way Edward treats Bella make you want to die for a man like him. Second, the film itself is very beautiful. The people and the surroundings all look so clear, cool and fair. Third, it is a vampire movie, but it is not like other vampire movies which use to image vampires like bloodthirsty and cruel. There are vampires like that in this film, but Edward and his family are not. They want to live in interaction with humans. It is in fact the vampires who stand for much of the beauty in this film. The writer has created them like irresistible and due to this even changed some ugly stereotype vampire things into beautiful things instead.

I warmly recommend this film. After reading the book I can also say that the movie is very well designed in connection to the book.
